A Closer Look at Our Tenet of True Love

Love is what makes our hearts beat. It’s what gives our lives meaning and purpose. Love has the power to change us, make our hearts grow bigger, and to connect us with another person forever. When we refer to love, we mean all the different types of love that one can feel, not just romantic. Our Tenet of True Love is defined by seven types, according to the classical definition. This includes Agape, universal love; Eros, romantic love; Philia, friendship; Storge, the love between parents and children; Ludus, playful love; Pragma, love founded on duty and reason; and Philautia, self-love.

Some of the symbols we use to represent this Tenet in our jewelry include the True Love Knot, also known as Bowen’s Knot, a heraldic knot that shows the connectivity of True Love; the Bunny, a symbol of love and abundance; the Heart; and our Four Heart Clover, which joins four hearts in the shape of a clover. You’ll find these symbols in our 18K Gold pieces, including our medallions.
